You must wait a minimum of 7 days before facial waxing after a light chemical peel or microdermabrasion. You must be off Retin A, Retinol, Tretinoin or any acne treatment for at least 2 weeks to receive any facial waxing. You may experience extra sensitivity to waxing up to a week prior to the beginning of your period. Sunburned or irritated areas cannot be waxed.

Waxing Prep

Please do not trim or shave the area for 3 weeks prior to your appointment.

Take 2 ibuprofen an hour before your appointment. The following may cause you to be more sensitive and should be avoided before your appointment if possible; caffeine, smoking, sugar, hormonal changes, stress (this is actually a big one). Keep in mind that discomfort during waxing feels significantly easier and your service will be quicker when you stay on a regular schedule of every 5 weeks. Please arrive with the your skin clean, and the areas that will be waxed, free of makeup. Freshening wipes will be provided for you in the room. Moisturizer is perfectly fine to apply prior to your appointment and is actually preferred.

Waxing Aftercare

After waxing, some slight soreness, small white bumps and redness are common, temporary reactions, especially if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours. However, if you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us! Keep the waxed area clean, cool and dry for the next 24-48 Hours.

This means for the next 24-48 hours:

  • No friction, No hot baths or hot showers, No saunas or hot tubs, swimming in pools, rivers or oceans.

  • No tanning or sunbathing

  • No sports, gyms or exercise. Avoid scratching or touching the waxed area.

  • Wear clean and loose fitted clothing.

  • Do not apply any deodorant, body sprays, lotions or makeup to the areas that were waxed.

  • If you experience moderate irritation, you may apply witch hazel, hydrocortisone cream or aloe vera with clean hands.

  • Icing the area may also help with inflammation.

To prevent ingrown hairs: Your aftercare is VERY important. A simple 2 step process is recommended for best results. Two days after your wax, start exfoliating in the shower using a texturized shower scrubber with your normal soap and water. When you're done exfoliating and dried off, apply a small amount of an ingrown prevention product, always on clean, dry skin. The manual exfoliation with the scrubber removes the dead skin on top and allows the product to penetrate deeper into your skin. We carry a few different products that work wonderfully to prevent and get rid of existing ingrown hairs, all are acid- free with natural ingredients that are safe to use anywhere on the body. During your appointment we will go into more detail about this and will recommend a product to fit your particular skin type. *Scroll below to see products for in store purchase*

Lash Lift + Brow Lamination Aftercare

For the next 24 hours; No water, heat, steam, saunas, oils, lotions, creams, face washes, makeup remover wipes or pads on lashes for minimum of 24 hours. Do not brush your brows or lashes for a full 24 hours as this is the “setting” phase. After 24 hours, apply Elleeplex to brow and lash area nightly. Do not apply any other serums or makeup for 48 hours. Please note that wearing waterproof mascara or false eyelashes can cause your lash lift to drop.

For Brow Lamination only; After 48 hours, condition your brows with your hair conditioner regularly. In the morning, wet your brows and use a mascara wand or brow gel to shape and “set” your brows into place for the day. Once they dry they will hold their place. Elleplex is recommended to use nightly.

Lamination and Lifts are recommended every 8 weeks if done together. Lifts no sooner than 6 weeks and Lamination no sooner than 8 weeks. Between lift appointments you may tint lashes or brows every 4 weeks. We now offer deep conditioning treatments for both lashes and brows in between your lift or lamination, this can be added to your tint service after 4 weeks. Elleplex is highly recommended as a take home aftercare post lift and lamination to maintain moisture, health and longer lasting results.
