Waxing FAQ

  • For best results do not trim or shave the area for 3 weeks. Hair growth that is any less than 2 weeks will most likely be too short for the wax to even pick up. The hair should be about the length of an eyelash or a grain of rice. No need to trim, we will do that if it’s needed!e

  • The worst part of waxing is the anticipation. Almost every single first timer says “It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be”, so try to stay relaxed and not worry! Take 2 ibuprofen an hour before your appointment. The following may cause you to be more sensitive and should be avoided before your appointment if possible; caffeine, smoking, sugar, stress (this is actually a big one). Keep in mind that discomfort during waxing feels significantly easier and your service will be quicker when you stay on a regular schedule of every 5 weeks.

  • Yes! If you’re on your period or spotting just put in a fresh tampon right before your appointment. 

  • Yes. Moisturized skin is actually preferred, particularly on leg and arm waxing.

  • You cannot get facial waxing if you’re currently using any of the following medications: Accutane (must be off for 1 year to receive any waxing service) • Adapalene • Alustra • Avage • Avita • Differin • Isotretinoin • Renova • Retin A • Tazarac • Tazarotene • Tretinoin • Retinol

    Facial waxing cannot be performed if you have had laser skin resurfacing within the past year or have had a physician administered peel within the past 2 years. You must wait a minimum of 7 days before facial waxing after a light chemical peel or microdermabrasion.

    You must be off Retin A, Retinol, Tretinoin or any acne treatment for at least 2 weeks to receive any facial waxing. You may experience extra sensitivity to waxing up to a week prior to the beginning of your period. Sunburned or irritated areas cannot be waxed.

  • We recommend staying on a schedule of every 5-6 weeks, without any trimming or shaving in between. Staying on this time schedule will allow for an easier wax with longer lasting results.

  • Yes, a legal guardian is required to be present for the appointment and sign a waiver form. We do not offer Brazilians under the age of 16, however we do offer Bikini. Feel free to text for any further questions.

  • Please arrive with the your skin clean, and the areas that will be waxed, free of makeup. Freshening wipes will be provided for you in the room. Moisturizer is perfectly fine to apply prior to your appointment and is actually preferred. If you are on your period (even at the very end) please wear a fresh tampon to your appointment. Do not trim prior to your appointment! We need 3 weeks of hair growth without trimming or shaving.
